Rupertites can put their kettles back in storage after multiple tests show disinfection systems are working.
The notice was first put in place in early August after difficulty with water disinfection and maintaining proper levels of disinfectants. The city also credited the advisory to local rain residual.
Over the last few weeks the city and Northern Health performed multiple tests that confirmed adequate levels of disinfection and met required quality standards.
The city and its engineers continues to work on solutions that will prevent future water quality issues. One of the solutions is replacing critical infrastructure in the city as part of the Big Infrastructure Gap (BIG) Project.
