Rampage hold losing record after a loss to the Terrace River Kings

The Prince Rupert Rampage hold a record of 5-6-0 after being dealt a 4-1 loss by the Terrace River Kings.

The Rampage took to the ice against the River Kings and searching for their first win on home ice since Nov. 1. The first period didn’t start how the Rampage wanted, as just three minutes in River Kings forward Colin Bell put one past Rampage goaltender Nicholas Haisell to give them the early lead. Six minutes after their first goal, River Kings forward Chapen Leblonde scored to make it 2-0.

With under four minutes to play Rampage forward Chance Waldhaus took a double-minor penalty for high sticking sending Terrace to a four-minute power play. The Rampage killed off the first half of the double-minor but it was Bell who added a goal on the second half to put Terrace up 3-0. Just as time was winding down the River Kings added one more goal as Zachary Gull scored on the breakaway to cap a four-goal period.

There was no action in the second period but in the third period the Rampage got on the board thanks to a goal from Kory Movold. The referees elected not to put their whistles down in the third and dished out a total of 30 penalty minutes and one game misconduct in the period.

Prince Rupert has the most games remaining in the season, with seven still to play, and will aim to make the most of them. The Rampage return to the ice Jan. 3 at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre against the Kitimat Ice Demons.
