Lax Kw’alaams partners with CityWest to bring community wide Wi-Fi

Lax Kw’alaams residents will have faster, more secure internet during a community-wide trial of a new CityWest program.

Since Jan. 26, residents of Lax Kw’alaams have been able to stay connected in the entire community with CityWest’s SmartTown trial. The program will introduce fast and reliable Wi-Fi to residents’ devices and will come at no cost to residents.

CityWest will be emailing customers in Lax Kw’alaams with the steps to get set up with SmartTown with most residents having received them. Lax Kw’alaams is working on getting the rest of the residents who have not received the email integrated into the service.

SmartTown is in the trial phase and is asking residents who use the service to provide feedback to CityWest to improve the service ahead of its official launch later in the year.
