Prince Rupert Minor Hockey offers condolences after Alberta crash kills three players

The Prince Rupert Minor Hockey Association (PRMHA) is offering its condolences to the families and friends of three hockey players killed in a crash south of Calgary, Alberta.

Caden Fine, from Alabama, and JJ Wright and Cameron Casorso, from Kamloops, were on their way to practice with the Southern Alberta Mustangs when their vehicle was struck by a semi-truck. All three boys were killed in the crash.

PRMHA shared its condolences in a statement on Facebook.

“The Prince Rupert Minor Hockey Association is deeply saddened by the passing of three young Alberta junior hockey players. We want to extend our heartfelt condolences to their families, teammates, coaches and entire hockey community during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement said.

JJ Wright was part of the Chase/Kamloops minor hockey team that came to Prince Rupert for the 2025 U18 Tier Four provincial championship.

PRMHA said sharing the ice with Wright was an incredible experience and reiterated its condolences.

“It was an honor to share the ice with one of these young athletes during the BC Championships hosted in Prince Rupert last season. Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this unimaginable loss.”
