Rampage season ends after loss to Hazelton

The Prince Rupert Rampage season has come to an end following their 5-2 loss to Hazelton over the weekend.

After suffering a 10-2 loss to the Hazelton Wolverines in game one of the Central Interior Hockey League playoffs, the Rampage travelled to Hazelton with hopes of keeping their season alive.

The Rampage scored the first goal from Tyler Ostrom to give them a 1-0 lead, but Hazelton took the lead with goals from Daniel Kernaghan and Jackson Leppard to make the score 2-1.

In the second the only goal came from Hazelton forward Layne Shiner to give Hazelton a 3-1 lead before Hazelton added insult to injury in the third, with goals from Ilya Colina and Ethan Brown to give them a 5-1 lead. Late in the third the Rampage would cut the Wolverine lead to three thanks to a Kory Movold goal but it was all for naught as Movold’s goal stood as the last goal of the game as the Rampage’s season came to an end.

Hazelton will now go up against Terrace in the semi-finals.
