AltaGas receives additional key components for REEF Project

The Ridley Island Energy Export Facility (REEF)

has received two additional accumulators, in addition to the one delivered in November 2025.

Each accumulator can hold the equivalent of 17 Olympic-sized swimming pools, or about 30 million litres. The accumulators are designed to provide refrigerated storage for propane and butane.

The arrival of the equipment marks an important milestone for REEF as the facility is expected to begin operations by the end of 2026.

AltaGas is grateful for the support of its corporate and community partners, the company said.

“We know big projects aren’t built alone. With our joint venture partner Vopak, our team and contractors, Indigenous and local communities, we can continue to build major projects and elevate Canada’s export platform.”
