Nisga’a Nation provides update on Prince Rupert Gas Transmission project

The Nisga’a Nation said planned activities at the Prince Rupert Gas Transmission (PRGT) camp will help further the project.

The Nation said that, beginning this week, contractors from Royal/Summit Camps will be on site to conduct inspection and maintenance work. Work at the Nass camp includes starting the generator and completing preventative measures.

Along with maintenance, the Nisga’a Nation said it is planning a final investment decision for the PRGT and increased camp capacity. Some of the temporary work camps used during the early phases will be removed as the primary camp is now established.

During the removal of the temporary camp, traffic is expected to be affected along the Nisga’a Highway as approximately 10 trucks haul modular units toward Terrace.
