City of Prince Rupert seeking residents help in reporting potholes

The City of Prince Rupert said rapid changes in temperature can cause cracks in the road, leading to potholes, and is asking residents to report any they notice.

Potholes have been forming on streets across Prince Rupert, and the city said crews cannot keep up and need help locating them.

“City crews have been out filling potholes, and knowing where they are is half the battle. So don’t just swerve the next time you see a pothole, let us know where it is so we can add it to the list for filling.”

Potholes can be reported in multiple ways, including through the City of Prince Rupert app, the city website, or by contacting the city by phone or email.

The city also noted the stretch of Highway 16 within city limits is under provincial jurisdiction, so potholes along McBride Street, Second Avenue and Park Avenue must be reported at DriveBC.ca.
