B.C. Ferries advises passengers to plan easter travel in advance

As residents on the North Coast prepare to travel to visit family over the long weekend, B.C. Ferries is advising travellers to book in advance.

With the Easter long weekend approaching, B.C. Ferries expects a sharp rise in passengers and said planning ahead will help travellers reach their destinations without issues.

Planning ahead will help everyone get to their destination, said Melanie Lucia, vice-president of customer experience.

“We know how important it is for people to connect over long weekends like Easter, and most customers are already planning ahead to make that happen. Booking early and choosing less busy sailings where possible gives customers more certainty and helps keep everyone moving through the system — especially during busy periods, when demand is high and we’re operating within a constrained system.”

With high demand expected over the weekend, B.C. Ferries suggests booking early for peak sailings, travelling during off-peak times when possible and considering alternate routes.
