The Northwest Fire Centre will be expanding its category three fire ban as of noon on Friday.

It currently covers the Bulkley and Nadina fire zones, and will then include the entire centre.

Category three fires are described as three or more piles up to two metres in height and three metres in length.

A category two fire ban will also be going back into effect for the Nadina fire zone at the same time.

It includes one or more piles up to two metres in height and three metres in length.

No category one fire ban is currently scheduled to go into effect.

The prohibitions will remain in effect until September 25, or otherwise posted.
